SUNDAY 16th February 2025.  6th Sunday In Ordinary Time

Jesus Christ in the Beatitudes, identified with our daily realities. These are words of encouragements that help us to become better people. They help us to strive to follow more closely the salvation plan of God for us. St. Paul clearly stated that the “the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us”, so let us continue to bear joyfully and with hope all that comes our ways for God’s plan for us is eternal.

Jeremiah clearly showed us in the first reading of today, that if we do the will of God, if we follow God’s commandments, we shall surely be blessed by God. But if we disobey God and follow the world and human’s ways then we shall bring courses upon ourselves. God is good and God does not bring or intend evil on anyone. It is our actions or inactions that bring us benedictions or maledictions.

We must strive to do the will of God, so that God’s blessing will be ours.

Our reward in doing God’s will is the sharing in His heavenly Kingdom. St. Paul told us in the second reading, that the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is an assurance of our own resurrection that awaits us at the end of time. We in our turn must keep up the faith by living a blessed life here on earth so that we can attain that everlasting happiness in the world to come.
