REFLECTION

The magnanimous of David towards his enemies was related in today’s first reading. David a successful young warrior and fantastic leader. David was also a great sinner, a killer, an adulterous, but also a great penitent, who was ever ready to admits his faults and also make reparations for them. David was a man who loved and he is beloved by many.

God in Christ Jesus came to us through his linage.

This is a great lesson to us that God does not take interest in our sins and failures, God wants us to be humble and repent of our sins, for God is compassion and love.

Our second reading, reminds us about the glory that awaits us at the end of time. Just as Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour, was raised from the death so also, we shall all share in his glorious resurrection.

To attain this glorious resurrection, Jesus in the Gospel showed us the shortest way. The way of Love. Love seeks no vengeance, love is patient, love forgives, love does not take advantage of others, love does not judge. When we love we are ready to generously share what we have. To love is to be compassionate, which is been emotionally involved with those in need and those who are vulnerable.  True Love leads us to perfection, we must be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect.
