Dear parishioners,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. It has been nice to enjoy the warm weather we have been having recently, it feels like Spring might be around the corner.
Today’s Newsletter has been written by some of our young people who, attended the Diocesan youth conference, “Flame”, last week at Wembley. It was an inspiring event titled “Unstoppable”, encouraging us to be unstoppable in pursuing Gods call for our lives and knowing that with Him we are unstoppable in the world. Below are some experiences written by SJV young parishioners:
When I was performing Flame, I felt excited for the big moment to perform to a crowd of people. I was playing as a homeless person and it gave me confidence to go on stage to perform. This is an amazing event as it’s the UK’s largest Catholic youth gathering, which connects everyone from all around the world and I enjoyed everything here at Wembley OVO Arena performing and getting to watch other people on stage dancing, performing, singing and speaking. I’m thankful for this to happen and I hope to perform again!!! Wisdom Okereafor
The Flame Wembley 2025 event was an incredible experience that brought together thousands of people in a vibrant celebration of Christianity. The atmosphere was electric as artists performed on stage, captivating the audience with their energy. I enjoyed watching thrilling performances and singing various praise songs that engaged everyone. The emphasis on being “unstoppable” was inspiring and the audience loved it. There was even a foreign guest who came all the way from Kenya just to speak to us. There were several speakers-such as Bear Grylls (who even gave us his own book inspired by the gospel of Jesus). Overall, the event was fun and a great way to worship the Lord collectively. Joshua Dos Santos Domingo
The flame was a really eye-opening experience where I learnt many new things including how to start my own connection with God and how to speak to him in my everyday life. We listened to various types of songs and heard stories from a variety of people, talking about their lives, their relationships with God and how they developed and changed their perspective on life. I felt a deep connection with God as I learnt about the many ways he helped people from around the world, for example people who even starting from nothing and were “no bodies” to world- known companies and people who set an example for the new and younger generation. Flame was a surreal experience which I hope to attend in the future. Kristella Mikeii
May their experiences inspire us and renew our own faith and desire to be unstoppable in our pursuit of God and the happiness He desires for us.
Have a blessed Sunday
