REFLECTION

14th Sunday of Ordinary Time 6th July 2025

Looking at today’s readings in the light of the (5) Joyful mystery of the Holy Rosary.

 ANNUNCIATION:

The Angel Gabriel brought the massage of joy to Mary at his annunciation of the incarnation of Jesus Christ through her. Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with you… Just as God choose Mary to be the Mother of Jesus, God in the first reading is portrayed as a loving Mother, God comforting us as a mother that comforts her child. God caring and feeding us as a Mother breast feeding her Child.

In the Psalm, our satisfaction in God is also compared to that of a Child’s embraced by the Mother. We in our turn should spread that God’s love to our world.

 VISITATION:

Just as Mary could not contained the joy of the annunciation to herself, she set out on a long and difficult journey to the hills country to share her joy with Elizabeth her cousin, so also Paul after his encounter with Jesus Christ, carried the Good News to the Nations. Meeting with Jesus shaped us for the future hope of haven. This is not without hardships, but the joy of the Lord is our strength. We are call to carry Jesus Christ to our world despite all odds.

 NATIVITY:

We are all born again, through water and the Holy Spirit at our Baptism. We become a new being, thus we have to leave behind our old ways and earthly preoccupations as Paul did, to enter into new and everlasting freedom inspired by the Holy Spirit and promised to us by Jesus Christ, where everlasting Joy exist.

 PRESENTATION:

Just as Jesus Christ our Lord was presented in the temple and dedicated to the service of God, we are called through our Baptism and Confirmation, and strengthened by the other Sacraments to carry the massage of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. This work of salvation, has its own challenges, but our Joy is that Christ who sent us is always faithful and caring. So, we should be focus in and on our Mission trusting in the love of God who bring us Joy.

FINDING OF JESUS IN THE TEMPLE:

The seventy-two others that were sent, came back rejoicing to Jesus Christ for their successful mission. Where people in bondage of evil were freed and humanity was restored to its original state of Grace. We as people of God, in the celebrations of the Eucharist, give thanks to God in our respective Churches and places of worship. This thanksgiving is a sign of our humble recognition of the power of God working through us by the power of the Holy Spirit.

So, in joyful praise we give honour, glory, to God in adoration and worship in His temple.
