REFLECTION

EASTER SUNDAY 5TH APRIL 2026

Today, we celebrate the victory of Jesus’ Resurrection. This is our opportunity to see, with eyes of faith, God’s love revealed in Christ Jesus, risen from the grave. As Saint Augustine reminds us, “We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song.” The heart of our Easter faith is simple and powerful: Christ has died, Christ is risen, and Christ will come again. This truth has sustained the Church through every age and it has sustained our parish community throughout its journey.

As we look ahead to the celebration of our Parish Centenary next year, we are invited to see it in the light of the Resurrection. For one hundred years, God has been faithful working through the lives, prayers, and sacrifices of those who came before us. Their witness has built the community we are blessed to be part of today. The Resurrection is not just a past event; it is a living reality that continues to shape our parish. It calls us to renew our faith, to strengthen our unity, and to recommit ourselves to the mission entrusted to us. Just as those before us kept the flame of faith alive, we too are called to carry it forward with hope and courage.

In a world searching for meaning and hope, our parish must be a visible sign of the risen Christ. Through our daily lives, our kindness, our service, our forgiveness we are called to witness that Christ is alive among us. As we prepare for our centenary, this is a moment not only to celebrate, but also to reflect:
How have we experienced God’s love in our parish?
How can we deepen our faith and strengthen our community?
What legacy of hope are we leaving for future generations?

The Resurrection reminds us that new beginnings are always possible. As a parish family, we are invited to be renewed to let go of what holds us back and to embrace the new life God offers us. In this way, our centenary will not only mark 100 years of history, but also open a new chapter of faith, mission, and growth. Let us remain open each day to the power of the risen Christ. May His life inspire us to live with generosity, humility, and self-giving love.

May this Easter season fill our hearts with joy and hope, as we journey together toward our Parish Centenary renewed, strengthened, and ready to rise with Christ into newness of life.
